Hope in Action

November 2022

This month, we’re revisiting some of the top e-newsletter stories of 2022. We hope that reading about Elizabeth, Alex and Gord will remind you that your support for Ray of Hope is changing lives, every day of the year. Thank you!

Stories of hope

Meet Elizabeth, Alex and Gord. They are just some of the Ray of Hope guests you helped this year.

Through your gifts of time or money, you provided them with food, employment opportunities, access to housing resources and — most importantly — hope for a better future.

Elizabeth

“We had nowhere to go”

A move, illness and job loss created a perfect storm for Elizabeth and her family. Searching for a place to live after being “renovicted”, Elizabeth connected with staff at Ray of Hope’s RAP Room. Read Elizabeth’s story.

Working It Forward

Struggling with a fentanyl addiction, Gord wasn’t sure he wanted to live anymore. Somehow, he found the courage to reach out for help. And through a new program at the Ray of Hope Community Centre, he began to change his life. Read Gord’s story.

Little miracles

When Alex’s bike went missing, it felt like the latest in a long line of losses. Community Centre staff were there to offer Alex support… and witness an unexpected answer to prayer. Read Alex’s story.
